The following screens show how to disable

1. The Client for Microsoft Networks
2. File and Printer Sharing

on your wireless connection to Ptera Wireless. Do not use these instructions on any other connection. Doing so can disable any home or office network you may be using.
By making these changes your computer, printer and/or files will no longer be visible to anyone else in the Ptera Network.

XP-Begin by clicking on the "Start" button then select "Control Panel."

Win2000-Begin by clicking on the "Start" button then select "Settings" then select "Control Panel."

XP- Double click "Network Connections" to bring up Network Connections window.

Win2000- Double click "Network and Dialup Connections" to bring up Network and Dialup Connections window.

Right click "Wireless Network Connection" *

and select "properties."

*Note - This maybe Orinoco, Avaya or Buffalo, depending on which brand was installed at installation time.

Uncheck both "Client for Microsoft Networks" and "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks."

Then click "OK."

Now your computer will no longer be visible as a Microsoft Network Computer.
