• 3/7/2008 After a few delays we have completed the install of the licensed link between USB building and Lookout Mountain tower. This is a significant step in the upgrading of that portion of the Ptera network served by Lookout. Pictures.
  • 12/7/2007 Last weeks network slowdown was the result of faulty cabling at one of our main transmission sites. The cable has been replaced and service restored to full speed. This cable had been causing some problems for over a month for a few customers connected through the Lookout POP. The secondary link wasn't able to carry the full load. It will be upgraded within the next month.
  • 7/25/2007 A new Point to Point link was installed to increase performance/reliability to Long Lake Customers.
  • 7/19/2007 Electrical storm interrupted service for customers in Long Lake area.
  • 7/13/2007 Electrical storm interrupted service for customers in Spokane Valley, Mica and North Spokane.
  • 6/26/2007 To add more reliability the Lookout tower site was upgraded to have generator backup and was cut over last night.
  • 6/16/2007 The Baldy/Krell Router was upgraded to a new system running approx 30 times faster.
  • 6/6/2007 The Lookout Router was upgraded to a new system running approx 30 times faster.
  • 5/16/2007 At approx 10:15am the radio link serving the Four Lakes - Airway Heights area was repaired.
  • 5/8/2007 We replaced the radio link to/for customers off of the Henrich’s site serving Rutter Parkway/River Bluff estates to address a reliability problem seen in recent weeks.
  • 3/6/2007 A new Point to Point link was installed for the Long Lake area to increase performance and handle the growth in that area.
  • 2/25/2007 9:05am Power outages at Lookout Mountain caused electrical spikes that resulted in failure of the UPS Backup system. The faulty UPS was bypassed restoring service at approx 1:00pm. This site is scheduled for upgrade.
  • 12/14/2006 High winds caused numerous power outages through out Spokane County cutting service to several areas. The tower serving customers in Spokane Valley and Mica was running off of power generator until 12/18 when power was finally restored by Avista.
  • 12/01/2006 we had a radio partially fail on the relay point above highway 27. The bad equipment was replaced on Dec. 2nd. It failed again and the second
    radio was replaced on Dec. 4th.
  • 11/24/2006 we lost the link to the South Krell Point-Of-Presence (POP). Having lost the redundant link the week before at this location, the customers on it went own for just over three days. The failing link hardware was replaced and normal operation resumed. The redundant link will be back up as soon as the replacement power supply arrives; this link is expected to be back up by Dec. 13th.
  • 11/14/2006 The switch on Greenridge was replaced restoring service to customers in Liberty Lake.
  • 11/14/2006 The link to Four Lakes was restored at approx 11:00am.
  • 11/13/2006 The link from Tower Mountain to Four Lakes is down due to failed cabling at Tower Mountain. The Cabling is scheduled to be replaced Tues at 9am. We plan to have service there restored by Tues evening. Weather permitting.
  • 11/13/2006 Monday high winds caused numerous power outages in the Spokane Area including our site on Tower Mountain. A generator was put in place until Avista restored power at the effected tower Monday night.
  • 11/12/2006 Sunday at approx 11am the main router servicing north Spokane county died. A new router was put in place and service restored at approx 4pm.
  • 10/30/2006 At approx 10:00am today Inland Power and Light shut off the power to our tower at Lookout. Customers in North Spokane County were without internet for approx 45 minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience and that we had no prior notification of this outage.
  • 10/26/2006 At approx 3:45 today there was an unplanned 10 minute outage while two new routers for Lookout and Riverbluff Ranch were installed.
  • 9/12/2006 The Internet will go down tonight for about five minutes around 12am for our service provider to upgrade some of their routers.
  • 9/11/2006 The Access Point on Lookout had to be rebooted and a replacement has been ordered.
  • 8/7/2006 Ptera technicians are currently working to resolve router rebooting issues for those customers using Linksys Wireless Routers Model WRT-54G
  • 8/5/2006 A squirrel playing on the transformer near our Arborcrest site caused a pole fuse to blow. It cost him his life. Power went out to that location last night for a little over an hour. Avista came right out. The site didn't come right back on the generator because of a configuration problem that has been fixed.
