Q. How much faster speeds can I anticipate?
A. In some environments, Ptera can achieve up to 4 Mbps.
Q. How long does installation take?
A. Usually, installation can take approx 2 hours for a residential customer, and in less than a day for a business customer. In rare cases, the set up of your Ptera wireless service could take slightly longer.
Q. How does it work without wires?
A. An antenna at your location will send a signal to a master antenna at a community POP (Point of Presence). The POP is connected by fiber to a high-speed network.
Q. What are the chances of interference?
A. Without physical barriers between your building and the community POP, Ptera's standards-based system eliminates interference issues.
Q. What is the most favorable aspect of wireless access?
A. The price point. We offer our customers Internet connectivity at broadband speeds at affordable prices when factoring in the cost of an additional phone line. Our wireless system does not require a phone line.
