CORPORATE INFORMATION
Founded on the basis of providing better and faster Internet access, Ptera Wireless Internet Service has a goal of helping customers achieve total freedom from the wired world. Located in the Pacific Northwest, Priority Terabit, Inc.--Ptera--was formed in response to the emerging need for improved Internet technology. It provides wireless Internet solutions to remote areas of a high-speed network, or in areas where high-speed fiber networks are unavailable. Ptera will provide high speed Internet at up to 1000 Mbps.
The vision of Ptera is that future networks will be Ethernet and Internet Protocol-based. These types of networks may collectively be called the IP Network Infrastructure or INI. These simple, powerful networks will replace most other local networks to homes, businesses, schools and metropolitan areas in the next 5-10 years. The technology to provide those services to government, business, and even residences exists today.
The name "Ptera" is short for the formal company name: Priority Terabit. A terabit is a bandwidth measurement term that goes beyond megabit, kilobit, and gigabit. It implies ultimate speed. It is the speed at which Ptera's future networks will aim for.
